Lawrence Solomon is a Canadian writer on the environment and the executive director of Energy Probe, a Canadian non-governmental environmental policy organization, a member of the advisory board of Rebel News, and a columnist for The Epoch Times.

Enough said.

You must have ascertained that from elsewhere, he certainly has provided no evidence here. The publications he writes for don't require it either. Friend of yours?

He is definitely living in an alternate reality based on alternative facts. I live in Alberta and am first a Canadian. Bring on the referendum because it will fail by a long shot.

Good to hear that!!! I hope that most of AB feels like you. I keep hearing reports that most Albertans would willingly join the states.

Research indicates it is 25% or less of our population. But they are a very loud and obnoxious group. The strong quiet majority will make itself known come next election.

Maybe 25-30% on a bad day, definitely no more. Most Albertans are Canadians first like me. Danielle and co make a lot of noise, but much of what they say is add odds with the views of a the majority of Albertans—particularly those of us in the large urban centres.

I'm not sure why you like the idea of being a tribute-paying colony of Canada. I would definitely vote "Yes" in a referendum on secession. After all, why on earth should we stay?

If I could I would kick your ass so hard your head would spin…. Canada does not want to be part of your lousy country. Your government sucks, your politics are hated and your attitude towards the rest of the world is pitiful. The only reason people want to go to the Us is because their country is worse , but that’s not the case here. We are relatively peaceful with little of your divisive politics that screws over the little people. we have pretty good health care that doesn’t bankrupt people, a fairly good education system and we try hard to help people in the world without wanting money for the help! Never ever the 51st state

That's satire, right. Its good because i could barely tell. Peevish Canadians because we rejected the US advances. The US is a lot like the dude who thinks he's a stud that every woman (and many men) want, when he's actually being laughed at or pitied.

At various points 30% of Albertans would "consider" joining the US. 24% of Newfoundlanders. That means 70% won't even humour your peevish little project.

Now if California, Oregon, and Washington (that all indicated a stronger desire to become Canadian provinces) want to begin formal proceedings on their own, I think they'd have a reasonable chance of being seriously considered.

This isn’t the one I was looking at before but it has the same number - but for Atlantic Canada. I don’t know how reliable it is. It is a much higher number than most surveys suggest. I was giving some benefit of the doubt to the original post.

As the “U"SA implodes, and their unsustainable debt crashes the economy, States will be trying to leave, like frightened passengers jumping off the Titanic. Canada will be a safe haven, as it was in the McCarthy era, the Vietnam disaster, and, since he cites Nfld., 9/11! Even Post Media will not be able to hide the evacuation!

I have no patience or respect for his kind. If USA had even half the decency and integrity as Canada they wouldn’t have voted in a convicted felon and rapist. I wouldn’t give up what I have in this country for the likes of Trumps America. Neither would most Canadians. So, put it to rest 👎🏼

"Individual Canadians would instantly be better off by replacing the weak Canadian dollar with the greenback, by getting lower taxes, lower gas costs, lower housing costs, better health care, better everything."

I read far enough into the piece to find out whether this opening paragraph was actually serious, and not satire. Turns out it was serious. The author actually believes these to be true statements. LOL.
